As a human resources director for a regional organization serving five counties in the Rio Grande Valley, Eddie is responsible for all employee relations matters for over 160 employees. He has created a recruitment program, new hire satisfaction reports, improved retention and reduced chronic overtime for hourly employees. He led a critical project in developing a counseling and coaching program for the leadership team and redesigned the performance report to evaluate employees. His skills as a therapist have guided his methods as a director of human resources, providing him an insight to human behavior and how it affects the modern workplace: this includes particular attention to a post-pandemic workforce, addressing the generational gaps, and the responsibilities of leadership and effective influence.
Eddie earned his master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He was raised in the Rio Grande Valley where he currently resides.
